  • During Session 1, you’ll choose your hardwood strips (walnut, cherry, maple), arrange them into a pattern, apply glue, and clamp your board together with full guided instruction.
    We keep it clean, simple, and social — no power tools used by guests.

  • Your glued board is taken back to the White Lyon Woodworks shop, where it is:

    • Planed perfectly flat

    • Routed for smooth edges

    • Fully sanded to a silky finish

    • Oiled with a food-safe conditioner

    You return for Session 2 to pick up your finished board.

  • None at all.
    This class is designed for complete beginners — you’ll learn everything you need step-by-step.

  • Nope!
    Board Night Out is intentionally clean, quiet, and dust-free.
    You’ll be working only with pre-cut hardwood strips, glue, and clamps.
    Wear normal clothes — you’ll be fine. We have rubber gloves if you would like.

  • Yes (as long as you are of age)—this is a relaxed, social workshop.
    Guests may bring an adult beverage if you wish.
    Alcohol is always optional and should be enjoyed responsibly.

  • Session 1: About 1 hour
    Session 2: About 30 minutes for final oiling, pickup, photos, and care tips.

  • Not quite — hardwood glue must cure overnight, and the professional finishing happens off-site.
    You’ll return for a pickup session a week later.

  • The final boards are roughly 14” x 10” x .75 thick and made from premium hardwoods. Substantial enough for an everyday use cutting board or beautiful enough for a serving board.
    Each one is unique based on your layout choices.

    • All glue, clamps, and workshop supplies

    • Full professional finishing

    • A beautiful board valued at ~$100

    • A fun, clean, social night out

    Board Night Out is perfect for team outings, client nights, birthdays, and friends’ groups.

  • Each booking will result in 1 cutting board. Space in the studio is limited however the class is perfect for a date night. Feel free to bring a partner.
